Founded in 2021 by Carly Riley and joined by Josh Smead in 2023, this duo of licensed architects brings a wealth of building experience to every project.  In 2024, Tyler Steel joined the LDD team as Project Designer.

Carly and Josh's architectural journey began back in 2013 when they crossed paths in graduate school. Fast forward to 2016, and they both graduated with Masters of Architecture degrees from Iowa State University. Their career paths converged as they honed their skills in various Kansas City firms, focusing on commercial and mixed-use residential projects.

In 2019, they expanded their horizons by opening a branch office in Honolulu for a sports architecture firm based in Kansas City. This venture not only broadened their architectural insights but also fueled their passion for design innovation.

Returning to Liberty in 2021, Carly and Josh continued their upward trajectory. This journey culminated in the establishment of Liberty Design Development – a dynamic architectural firm driven by a shared vision of creating a better world for future generations. With their expertise and dedication, they're here to transform your architectural dreams into reality.
